SENTENCE REARRANGEMENT

Sentence rearrangement is a most important section asked in Banking exams. There are 5 or 6 jumbled up sentences and The aim is to rearrange all sentences in a sequence that make sence. Typically One sentence rearrangement question has 5 to 6 questions and it means if your arrangement is right, your score increases by 5 to 6 marks.
How to rearrange these jumbled sentanses, Here we are providing you with some useful tips that help you to rearrange the sentances and save you time also.

Move 1- your first move should be read all the jumbled sentances carefully and try to understand the basic theme of the passage. ( improve reading ability. Use english news paper. )

Move 2- Search for subject line if you have performed  move  1 sucessfully, you can do it in seconds.

Move 3- Search for the line with conclusion. Again move 1 will help you. ( its means the base is only to unferstand the tone of passage.

Move 4- Till now you have 2 sentances ie first and last. Remaining sentances will be treated as body of the passage. For this search for the link words e.g. Personal Pronouns (he, she, it, him, her, you, they), Relative pronouns (who, whom, whose, which, that), Demonstrative pronouns (this, that, these, those),  If a sentence has these pronouns, than read the passage again and relate it with the original person, place or object. (A link starting with link word can not be the first line. )

Move 5- Search the sentance with question. If a sentance drals with a questin, next question will be the answer of that.

Note- For your ease, use Elimination technique in move 3 and 4.

Now read the rearranged passage and double check it that it makes sence.

Note- Improve your reading skill, and vocabs. This will help you to understand the theme of the passage.

Look an example.

A. Hence, the meal that is taken in the morning is breakfast.

B. The word originated from the fact that after dinner, we don’t eat the whole night and this is a long time for the body to go without food.

C. During day time, we keep on eating and munching after every 3-4 hours.

D. People often ask as to why breakfast is important.

E. But the duration between dinner and breakfast is pretty long, sometimes may be equivalent to a fast.

F. The answer lies in the word ‘breakfast’ itself.

Start with .....

Move 1- you get the main theme. It’s about Breakfast and the origin of the word.  Now

Move 2- look for subject line, what can be the opening sentence? From all the sentences First and second sentence can’t be the opening sentence. Third and fifth sentence  has a transition word “DURING” and “BUT”. Sixth sentence is not giving the sense of an opening sentence. Therefore, D is the most apt opening sentence.

Move 3-  What can be the last or conclusion sentance? Use elimination technique. D is linked to F as there is a link. A question is asked and answer is given. Here A gets eliminated so the probable last sentence is going to be F. F is linked to B as it is giving the explanation to the answer. As we said look out for transition words But and Hence  To get the theme right, C is linked to E with the help of “But” and then E is linked to A with the help of “Hence”.

So, ANSWER will be D F B C E A .

Hope!! These article will help you a lot. But still have problem, leave a massege right here.
